Oy Saimaa Terminals Ab (Sterm) has sold its port operations in the Hamina and Saimaa regions to Careliance Oy. The transaction will be completed on 1 May 2026.
Careliance Oy is the new operating name of Joensuun Laivaus Oy, which has been operating in the Port of Hamina for four years. Going forward, the new company will carry forward the experience and strengths of both organisations, built on their long histories.
As part of the transaction, in addition to commercial agreements, Sterm’s permanently employed staff will transfer to Careliance Oy as so-called old employees.
The operations of Sterm's Mussalo pulp terminal, including its personnel, will be integrated into the Kotka Container Terminal. This business transaction supports both Steveco’s and Careliance’s opportunities for sustainable and growing business operations in the future.
