Information about changes in the organisation

Ari-Pekka Saari, who has served as the acting CEO since December, has been appointed CEO of Steveco Oy by the Board of Directors in its meeting on Wednesday 25 January 2023.

“Ari-Pekka Saari has accepted the appointment in a situation where the company’s profitability has been declining. We have every confidence that he will be responding to the challenges posed by these difficult times with great determination and vision to develop the company into a stronger and better partner to our clients,” says Kari Savolainen, Chairman of the Steveco Oy Board of Directors.

“Steveco’s role as Finland’s leading port operator is unique. Our company has a long track record of delivering the best quality to our clients through our extensive service portfolio. We stand at the heart of Finnish exports, imports and logistics – every Steveco employee contributes to the wellbeing and security of supply for every Finn. This also means that we carry a great responsibility in securing supply and reliable logistics chain.” Saari explains.

“To me personally, Steveco represents a journey of professional growth spanning nearly three decades. I am truly excited to accept the appointment as the new CEO and look forward to serving our clients together with our highly skilled staff. We will continue our journey listening carefully to our clients.

“Steveco has invested heavily in new capacity, particularly in Kotka Mussalo. The group is well positioned to continue developing this capacity alongside its other strengths. This requires courage and a shared focus and positive attitude from every Steveco employee. These are qualities that we already have.

“Cooperation is the way forward for us as we realise our strategy to keep Steveco the preferred provider of logistics services around the world for our clients,” Saari concludes.
