The war in Ukraine has generated a sharp increase in energy prices. Prevailing market price on energy is expected to remain on high level until next Spring and it shows the growing vulnerability of business operations.

At Steveco Group electricity plays a vital part in our port operations. The security of supply in Finland safeguards critical functions such as port operations and is prepared to maintain them functioning during exceptional circumstances.

To ensure our service ability, we will introduce an energy surcharge from 1st of January 2023. The surcharge will be added upon the normal billing price according to the electricity consumption. We will return to targeting of the energy surcharge in January. The level of the charge reflects previous month’s average electricity price on SPOT that is compared to the price level before the energy crisis. January energy surcharge will be charged in February when we also announce the level of surcharge.

We hope the energy crisis will pass soon and we can remove the extra cost.
