Steveco has sold its bulk business to Rauanheimo

Steveco Oy has sold its bulk business and terminals to Oy M. Rauanheimo Ab. The transfer of business will take place on Friday 23 March 2018.

Steveco’s bulk terminal at Mussalo in Kotka has employed five people: four stevedores and a foreman. They will be transferred to the employment of Oy M. Rauanheimo Ab as current employees.

The bulk terminal has handled an annual volume of approximately 230,000 tonnes of substances such as lime and kaolin.

Rauanheimo is the leading port operator in Finland for dry bulk. In addition to the Port of HaminaKotka, it operates at the ports of Vuosaari, Tahkoluoto and Kokkola.

The business transaction is part of the company’s determined expansion strategy in Southern Finland. The extensive storage facilities with conveyor systems included in the transaction create new opportunities to increase the company’s cargo flows through the Mussalo Harbour.
