Amended SOLAS regulation will come to effect on 1 st July 2016.

Under the amended SOLAS regulation the shipper is responsible for providing the verified weight of a packed container to the master or his representative. Without a Verified Gross Mass, the packed container shall not be loaded on board.

Steveco Oy will provide the weighing service for export containers from 1 July, 2016 at the latest. The weighing equipmnet will be type certified. The containers will be weighed upon arrival to the terminal on shipper´s or his representative´s request. The weighing information will be sent by Steveco Oy to the shipper or his representative.

The weighing request has to be submitted in advance by using updated terminal advice. The weighing service and the data transmission will be chargeable.
