National actions of AKT starting on Tuesday 2 February
AKT, the Finnish national organization of ITF, has today informed that they will start on 2 February 2010 at 6 a.m. a ban on overtime work in all Finnish ports. This ban is applied to all work under the stevedore branch collective agreement.
The organization also informs that they will start a strike in all Finnish ports on 19 February 2010 at 6 a.m. unless a satisfactory result in negotiations between AKT and the Finnish Port Operators Association has been reached by then. Also under the strike comes all work under the stevedore branch collective agreement.
In addition, committees of local organizations of AKT, the national organization of ITF, have informed they will stop working for one day in several Finnish ports starting on Tuesday 2 February 2010 at 6 a.m. This will stop service also in Steveco terminals in Kotka and Helsinki. The stevedores will start working again on Wednesday 3 February 2010 at 6 a.m.
