STEVECO NEGOTIATING WITH PERSONNEL
THE COLLECTIVE LABOUR AGREEMENT FOR STEVEDORES WILL FINISH, WHICH RAISES THE RISK OF DISTURBANCES IN INDUSTRIAL PEACE
Steveco Oy is conducting adaptation and industrial co-operation negotiations with all employee groups because of production-related and financial reasons. These negotiations will continue until early March.
The negotiations seek flexible temporary dismissal solutions, which can be used both for achieving the necessary cost savings and taking care of customer service in the best possible manner.
The adaptation negotiations for the stevedores will finish on Friday 22 January, after which disturbances in industrial peace are possible. The risk for disturbances in industrial peace is also elevated by the fact that the nation-wide collective labour agreement for stevedores will finish on 31 January 2010. The representatives of the port operators and the Transport Workers’ Union AKT, which represents the stevedores, have negotiated on a new collective labour agreement for several weeks, but the views of the two parties are still far from each other.
The negotiators of Steveco Oy are doing their best in our own negotiations so that the negotiations between the employer and personnel groups could continue and that the parties can find solutions which secure Steveco’s disturbance-free customer service.
